Hi, we're Taly & Errol. Butterfield is where we became good friends over 30 years ago, an idyllic place and time at the top of a hill on the edge of campus, where, surrounded by art, we ate well and found ourselves among friends. Years later, just down the street at the Amherst Oyster Bar (then Judy's), we shared our vision for these retreats for the first time, and asked our sweet and very curious waitress to commemorate the moment with this photo.
Do you love good food? We do too! Total foodies here. Expect nourishing, beautifully prepared meals made from fresh, vibrant ingredients, rooted in season and setting. In Vermont, that means cozy harvest flavors and local must-haves like Vermont cheddar and crisp apples. Most importantly, your preferences, allergies, and cravings will guide the menu before you even arrive, through a simple intake form.
The best times happen when you feel comfortable just being yourself, right? We craft an environment with warmth and intention so that connection finds you naturally. Vermont's peak foliage season provides the inspiration. We aim for balance between curated activities and the freedom and openness that helps you slow down and take deeper breaths. I'm interested in Lavender DreamsA 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your spot on any Butterfield retreat. This deposit cannot be refunded regardless of the reason for cancellation.
For U.S. retreats, a second payment of 25% is due 60 days before your arrival date, with the remaining balance due 30 days before departure.
For international retreats, the second 25% payment is due 120 days before your arrival date, with the remaining balance due 90 days before departure.
You're welcome to pay in full at any time. If you're booking after the final payment deadline has passed, full payment is required at the time of reservation.
Please note that any invoice not paid within 7 days of the deadlines above may result in your reservation being released. No refunds will be issued for bookings canceled due to non-payment.
Cancellation PolicyIf you cancel before the final payment deadline, any payments made beyond your initial 25% deposit will be refunded. The deposit itself remains non-refundable.
If you cancel after the final payment deadline, all payments including the deposit are non-refundable. This reflects the financial commitments we make to our venues, guides, and service partners well in advance of your arrival.
In the unlikely event that Butterfield cancels a retreat, you will receive a full 100% refund.
We strongly encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance to protect their investment against unforeseen circumstances. We want you to feel safe and secure so you can focus on what matters: showing up with an open heart and making memories that last.
